Description
Delicious and chewy chocolate chip cookie bars made with simple ingredients and a dash of flaky sea salt on top.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 sticks salted butter, at room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 3 1/4 cups + 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- flaky sea salt, for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter a 9×13-inch, or slightly larger, baking dish.
- In a large bowl, beat together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until combined.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition until creamy.
- Beat in the vanilla.
- Add the flour, baking soda, and sea salt, and beat until combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Spread the dough into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 18–25 minutes, until just barely set in the center. We like them doughy; the longer you bake, the more set the bars will become.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
- Enjoy a few warm bites from the pan!
Notes
- These cookie bars are best enjoyed warm, but they can also be stored for later.
- Feel free to mix in nuts or other types of chocolate chips!
