Description

A delicious sushi bowl featuring sticky rice topped with fresh ingredients.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 whole avocado
  • 1 whole cucumber
  • 1 whole carrot
  • 0 pound imitation crab meat
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 pack seaweed sheets (nori)
  • to taste wasabi
  • to taste pickled ginger

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Combine the rinsed rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to manufacturer’s instructions, approximately 20 minutes.
  3. While the rice is cooking, heat the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small saucepan over low heat until dissolved.
  4. Transfer the cooked rice to a large bowl. While it’s still warm, gently stir in the vinegar mixture.
  5. Scoop the warm sushi rice into serving bowls.
  6. Top each bowl with sliced avocado, cucumber, grated carrot, and shredded imitation crab meat.
  7. Drizzle soy sauce over each bowl, sprinkle sesame seeds, and serve with nori strips on the side.
  8. Include optional wasabi and pickled ginger for additional flavors.
