Description

This delicious glazed Bundt cake is moist and flavorful, perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup (240ml) buttermilk
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup (75g) unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Generously grease and flour a 10-inch (12-cup) Bundt pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
  3. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the softened butter until creamy.
  4. Add the dry ingredients and buttermilk alternately to the butter, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix on low speed just until combined after each addition.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Mix in vanilla extract until the batter is smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan and spread evenly. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool the cake in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Carefully invert the cake onto a serving plate.
  8. While the cake cools slightly, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, butter, and water. Stir constantly until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves. Bring to a gentle simmer for 1 minute.
  9. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  10. Use a long skewer or toothpick to poke holes all over the top and sides of the warm cake.
  11. Slowly pour the hot glaze over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes. Let the cake cool completely before slicing.
