Description

A rich and creamy maple pecan custard perfect for dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 6 large egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup toasted pecans, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Prepare ramekins in a larger baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, heat heavy cream and half of the granulated sugar until steaming; remove from heat.
  3. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks, remaining sugar, and maple syrup until smooth. Gradually add warm cream mixture while whisking.
  4. Stir in chopped pecans. Pour custard into ramekins.
  5. Place ramekins in the baking pan and fill with hot water halfway up the sides. Bake for 30-35 minutes until slightly jiggly.
  6. Cool completely before refrigerating for at least 2 hours. Before serving, sprinkle sugar on top and caramelize using a kitchen torch.

Notes

  • Ensure the custard is slightly jiggly in the center before removing from the oven.
  • Use a torch for caramelizing sugar on top for the best results.
