A rich and creamy maple pecan custard perfect for dessert.

- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 6 large egg yolks
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/2 cup toasted pecans, finely chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Prepare ramekins in a larger baking pan.
- In a saucepan, heat heavy cream and half of the granulated sugar until steaming; remove from heat.
- In a bowl, whisk egg yolks, remaining sugar, and maple syrup until smooth. Gradually add warm cream mixture while whisking.
- Stir in chopped pecans. Pour custard into ramekins.
- Place ramekins in the baking pan and fill with hot water halfway up the sides. Bake for 30-35 minutes until slightly jiggly.
- Cool completely before refrigerating for at least 2 hours. Before serving, sprinkle sugar on top and caramelize using a kitchen torch.
Notes
- Ensure the custard is slightly jiggly in the center before removing from the oven.
- Use a torch for caramelizing sugar on top for the best results.
