Description

Delicious homemade pizza with a crispy crust and fresh toppings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (plus more for drizzling)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to form a dough.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and oregano.
  5. Drizzle olive oil over the cheese and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Let cool slightly, garnish with fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • For a spicier taste, add red pepper flakes to the toppings.
  • Allow the dough to rise for better texture if you have extra time.
